I’ve got a 2016 cougar FTD that I just repowered from a 2 stroke 250xs to a 4 stroke 250 pro xs. The new motor was mounted in the same holes as the last motor but when I went for my break in period the boat seemed to nose way up and struggle to get on plain. Now I played with the jack plate and it seemed that I needed it much higher than normal just to get the boat up like normal. So my question is… do I need to move the motor up a notch or just experiment more with the range on the jack plate? Has anyone experienced this with a motor swap?
