Guy I know just blew the power head on the above motor. Does anybody know a good place to get one at a decent price. Thanks Joey Watts

Thats a tough one, but there is an outboard motor salvage yard in Mobile, AL. They have all sorts of motors that have damaged lower/midsections, blown powerheads, and everything in between, Might have a shot. You can always resort to BRP, they must have em still..2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

We do not have a dealer any where close to me. Is a half days drive to the closest one. He and I do not have a very good working relationship to say the least !!! LOL Thanks, will try to Google them. Joey

Joey, That motor was mid dependable to good, though it is a monster when running at tip top condition. BCB

Thanks for the reply. This guy comes in the store I work at and have gotten to know him a little because of fishing. He told me about him blowing this motor up this weekend and has gotten a price on rebuilding it. Seemed kind of high to me and told him I would post here to see if anybody knew anything. Not a real big deal and atleast I tried !!!! Thanks Again

If your friend is mechanically inclined or is just looking for a new powerhead to have someone else put on for him, try ( http://www.powerheadexchange.com/ ) they are reasonably priced and have a one year warranty.

I had the same motor on my old boat, but a little bit older. My mechanic, and really good friend told me $7k to rebuild the top end. Just FYI. That is a bad mo fo motor though. Everyone within a couple miles used to hear me coming!

http://www.riversidemarine.info/ Ward has had good experience with these guys, and Riverside has been doing all the OMC rebuild for many years. Good people, D.
