Hey all hoping to get an idea on how to remedy this problem. I have a 97 Pantera II that I put a 2012 optimax pro xs 200 and 2 12ft talons on the back and don’t have hardly any tounge weight the motor that was on it before was a 1998 225 3.0L and it had the same issue I noticed the leaf spring bushing were wore out so I replaced those minus the main frame bushings and also replaced the center link for the tandems, that helped the ride of the trailer and stopped the bucking but I still don’t have much tounge weight my upright is welded to the frame so I can’t move it as are the leaf springs mounts. I know small movements can make a big difference in weight transfer but I’m not sure the right way to go about it

Adding weight to the trailer is a sim0le solution. When the engine weights were changing back then it was hard to keep up with the variety.

Would you suggest welding a plate to the bottom under the upright or plate weights in the spare tire carrier

This is what I ended up doing I’m adding 2 more plates as it’s still a little light when on wet pavement but this has helped significantly

We also suggest you look at your brakes as those do not appear to be operational.

Yea I need to find a master cylinder rebuilt kit, I did have them working when I registered the trailer last year

Add extra weight to the front of the trailer. You can use weights or even install additional batteries.
Check the location of the weight on the trailer. If the weight is too close to the rear axle, it may reduce the weight of the tongue. Try moving the load closer to the front axle.
Figure out if you have the correct wheel balance on the trailer. If the wheels are not balanced correctly, it can cause improper weight distribution.
If you have the option, try changing the mounting position of the leaf springs. This may change the angle at which the leaf springs interact with the trailer and affect the weight distribution.
You may need to add additional leaf springs or install reinforced leaf springs to increase the lift of the trailer.
