I just picked this boat up and had the chance to run it around a little yesterday. I used to have another classic/200 merc and that thing would FLY. This boat (no gps) simply doesnt feel as fast (guessing its as much as 10-14 mph slower) and it doesnt have anywhere near the lift my other boat had. The props a 24p Raker. I really dont get a lot of lift until Im at 5,000 and trimmed out almost fully. Only then does the boat lift and its ok-ok… still doesnt feel like Im completely on the rear pad and I really dont want to have to run at those speeds all the time. I havent measured the jack/engine height yet, will do that soon.The previous owner did tell me that he never played around with the setup.What Im wondering is if Im propped correctly or if its more of a set-up issue? Id really like to be able to cruise at 4,000 with great lift, the way I was able to with my other cat.Any/all recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.
