I have a 1999 200 opti that is going into alarm when I start it for the 1st time. I need to start and stop the engine 4-5 times and then it will finally start without going into alarm. Sometimes the alarm will trigger when I put it into gear for the 1st time. After running a bit it will start and run fine the remaining of the day. So far I have had the the impeller replaced. Any thoughts on next step?

Two things, check the fuel filter for water and the upper oil reservoir may need totally topped off under the cowling. They don’t have any room for air on the sender settings.

I had a 99 opti for a while. We had trouble with an alarm like that due to low battery voltage. The alarm usually stopped after the second start. We even had it hooked up to a computer to check why it was giving an alarm. The code would change each time. We put a new battery on and it temporarily fixed the problem. A few weeks later it came back. I was looking everything over and figured out that the red wire to the alternator was loose due to the nut missing.
