Well Ive had my Puma for 2 months now, and have loved it. I seriously go by sometimes just to look at it. For some crazy reason my wife thinks that this isnt normal. Anyways have a couple of things Im hoping yall can help me with. 1) One of my handrails has come loose, and I have no idea how to fix it. Each end of the hand rail still goes into the cap of the hull, but the chrome bracket in the middle isnt attached to the hull. Its sits about 1/2-1 inch above. There is a whole in the cap of the hull and the bottom of the bracket, but not bolt or mounting fixture. Any ideas on how to re-attach. 2) My Lowrance unit was siliconed to my dash. The silicone has broken loose so when Im running hard in choppy water the unit trys to bounce out of the hole. I can re-silicone it no problem, but my buddy thinks there should be a bracket on the inside of the hole to mount the unit on and then siliconed. Does anyone know if it should have the bracket and where I can get one? Sorry I should of mentioned that it is an 06 Puma with a 225 Merc Pro XS. 3) On the longest trip Ive taken I almost had a big problem(sorry this is going to be long). Towards the end of the day at Fork I tried to start the big engine, and it started right up. However right of the bat I got an overheating alarm. Im mean right off. Less than a second after the motor started up. Wierd thing is we had been fishing that spot for about ten minutes, and had only made a 5-10 minute idle to get there. We had fished the spot before the idle for an hour. So the engine hadnt been ran hard for a good while. However, everytime I turned the key over I would get the alarm so I didnt dare try to start it. Then once I turned the key and no alarm, but it wouldnt start. Next time I turned the key the smart craft guages said lost eng. comm. Went back and checked my battery connections and everythng seemed to be tight. Still wouldnt start though. Oh yeah by this point tilt/trim motor wasnt working either. Thats what made me think to check the battery. Anyways unhooked my cranking battery and hooked up to my one of my trolling batteries. Started right up and ran back to the marina with no issues. Heres where it got wierd. Its a new battery, but I thought I just had a bad one. At the Marina I hooked the batteries back up like they are supposed to be so I could charge them when I got home. Magically the tilt/trim worked again. I was already on the trailer so I couldnt check to see if it would start. However, on the next trip the batteries had no issues. Only went out for a couple of hours though. Do you guys think the motor could of really been overheated. Or is there something else I should be worried about?Last edited by mattm on September 8th, 2008, 7:30 pm, edited 1 time in total.
