Does anybody know how many rpms are safe for a 1992 200hp evinrude?

I had a 93 200 Rude and I was advised to keep it at 5500 RPM by an OMC technician. I never exceeded this and put 600-700 hrs on it with nothing more than a power pack failure. Hope this helps.

I have two props one is 14.25×21 one is a 14.5×26 .The motor will turn 5900 with an awsome holeshot with the 21.It will turn 5600 with an ok holeshot with the 26. Is the anyway to some holeshot back and still run the bigger prop?

Only if you can enlarge the vent holes slightly one at a time till it improves hole shot. Very slightly.

What are you calling slightly? I own my own tool and die ,job shop.I have the capabilties to do that but are we talking a1/64or a 1/16?

1/16 would be our steps. Then you will see on a per hole improvements. Yes, just one hole at a time. Opposing as you work your way up. If you get satisfied, it would be good to quit. Once you go too far, it will ventilate. Also try it will vent more in hot weather. So you would be in cool water now and temps. BCB

Thanks for the info.I will try opening up the holes.Would a four bladed prop help me any?
