2003 cougar dc set up

I bought my cougar in July of 2011. Since I bought it I changed the 6″ slide master jack plate, and went to an 8″ bobs jack plate. The boat is powered by a 2003 mercury 250xs. I have been trying to find the best prop, presently am running a 27 fury . Best speed I have seen with fury is 76 mph, prop shaft is about 2.75″ below pad. Tried a 27 txp ot4 it ran 78.5 but hole shot was awful. Thinking of trying 28 bravo xs. Anybody have any suggestions?

what size trophy? i can run the 27 fury at 5850 rpm which is at rev limit.

I use to run a 28 Trophy on that engine with the low rev limit. Hole shot is not the best, but it would run up to 82 or so.

i like the hole shot of the fury but i find it doesnt give the lift of the trophy r the txp ot4. also noticed a loss in fuel economy with fury. my friend has a 28 bravo 1 from mark croxton on his bullet and say hole shot is amazing. that why i was considering trying his.

We put a 26bravo 1 xs on a 250 etc and it was vary close to our 25 fury the fury had a better holeshot by a second and were vary close on top but the lift was so much better and no chinwalk like our fury just put a 250 xs racing on our puma and r going to try a 27 temp and the 28 bravo 1 xs on it as well after brake in

There was no 250 XS model in 2003 that we recall. Though we could be wrong? We that it was 2005 or 2004?

Id love to know a little more about the bravo1 props as well. Ive heard of it on a few cats and its gotten good reviews from those Ive spoken with. I run a 25 fury on my 02 but Ive got a yamaha that likes to run 6000 rpms. Have you talked to a prop guy about working one?

i have a 26 bravo 1 xs we ran for one day be for selling the etc its brand new if u want it 400 plus shiping not hub kit. im selling it to buy the 28 bravo 1 xs for the mercery
