Topic: 2003 smart craft guages not working

Hey Folks, I know this is not a Cat issue but all the guages in the dash seem to be dead, nothing is working. However all pumps lights and things like that are working fine, I know there has to be something up plugged but where do I start? This is on an 03 Cougar with an 03 Merc 225 Opti . Thanks in advance for the assistance.

There is a junction box with terminal resistors plugged in under the console that controls the gauges input and outputs. That is where to start then the Deutche connector on the engine.

I will Give a look at the Junction box,, Ok now a potentially silly question, but where would the Deutche Connector be located on the engine? And Thanks for the help Guys, You just have to know the Basscat guys will come thru for you time and time again.

I lost my opti manual when my last laptop smoked. I am guessing here, but I do believe the deutche is on the RH side of motor, right at the cowl lower edge. Just follow the smart craft wire harness as it goes into the engine fwd side. Check, splice connectors foward cowl area too. MY opti would not start once on the lake, found a splice disconnected there. Good luck.
