Im not a Merc guy , but I am a mechanic . — I assume motor is EFI ?? — Sounds like either a fuel or possibly timing issue . — 2 strokes will run without reeds , but if the reeds are not correctly installed they COULD limit the amount of air/fuel getting into the engine . — Purely conjecture at this point , but I feel your mechanic SHOULD have been a bit more analytical when you called him . — The first thing I ask myself is ” Did I do anything that could cause this?” — NOT ” It aint my fault!” — My opinion , which is worth about 2 cents !?!?!? — Since the only change was the reeds , and it ran before , take it back to him and give him the chance to check his work , at HIS expense . — Any GOOD technician wants to keep a good reputation , and should be willing to go the extra mile to take care of his people , who are actually the ones that take care of HIM . — Good luck . — Please keep us posted as to the outcome of his whole debacle . — Mark
