Just bought a 06 Pantera Classic wuth a Merc 200 EFI a few weeks ago at a repo auction. Ran it today for the first time and Im quite impressed and pleased. A couple things I cant figure out about this boat (I received no manuals with it). First I have a dual fuel tank indicator switch but dont appear to have two tanks (unless Im stupid, only one fuel port that I can find). Second, there is a threaded connector with a plastic threaded cap on it located on my rear port side gunnel just above the splash well. Its about the size of a garden hose connection and has a brass screen in it. When I stick my fat head as far as I can, upside down, into my battery compartment I can see a red/black line that appears to run from it, forward, and disappears behind my port side rear dry storage. What might that be? Ive tried to figure it out but Im stuck on stupid. Thanks.
They use the same valve…keep it on the Left and you will be fine. That garden hose connection should have a cap on it and it is the vent for you gas tank. Make sure and get that cap on there so you dont get water in your fuel. Congrats on the new ride. Judd Lasiter
You say “they use the same valve” does that mean there is two? When I have the indicator on left it shows full (when full) and when I switch it to right it pegs to empty, no matter what. Also the vent. Is that soely for the purpose of vapor release while filling? Anotherwords should I be opening this while fueling to avoid filler neck back splash? (I did get that pretty bad while fueling) Thanks for the help and, by the way, the new ride is awesome. I hit 70.8 GPS and I wasnt done playing with the trim, only cut back because my wife wouldnt stop screaming. Also found it extremely fishable, love the extended flipping deck and recessed TM control. Previously owned a Nitro and have been recently fishing on a partners Pro Craft. Both fine boats but after only one trip I can say with authority that Im now, without question, a Bass Catter! In the next couple years I will most certainly be upgrading, Im very pleased.

(I did get that pretty bad while fueling) I assume you have one tank since you can only find one fuel nozzle. Evidently you have an switch on the panel that says “left”/”right”. Since you have only one tank, then its going to read on one. There are no owner manuals for the boat itself. If you have questions, ask here! Good luck and hope you catch some biguns out of it.
There is a fix for the backsplash listed on the FAQ section. This is your owners manual for any questions you have. The fuel gauge defaults to your single tank and you probably only have one. Very few Pantera Classics have two. Though it is an option.
Thanks for the answers guys. Im sure Ill have more questions as I put some more hours on my rig. Will be running it in a turny Wednesday, maybe Ill have a new boat luck bump. One thing I noticed immediatly was the handeling difference with the hull style as opposed to other bass boats Ive ran. Most obvious your sitting on something different during higher speed turns. Also somewhat expected a pretty firm slap when crossing boat wakes with the pad style hull. Didnt really get that, instead just a mild and stable pop as we crossed them. Fished an inland lake that got pretty crowed mid afternoon with pleasure boats so it provided a pretty good opportunity to experience varying water and handeling conditions. Once again we were quite pleased. Anxious to see in the coming weeks how it does on the near shore waters of Lake Erie when we head out for Smallies. 1-3 footers are quite common and this boat seems to prefer to run a little more flat as opposed to much bow rise, well see how she does.
