I have a 2010 PII, so little different console that yours. I originally set it up with two Helix 10’s at the console – one on a Sherm’s mount and the other was a RAM mount where the pop out cleat goes. I had a third Helix 10 on a RAM mount at the bow. I found that I didn’t use the dual graphs at the console as much as I thought, with the 10″ screen I was able to split the map/2D and still see it fine. I also have become better at using the map/2D/MSI split screen and really like that view. It would be even better on a Helix 12 and that’s about as big as I could go on that mount. But when I added a 360 up front, I knew I needed 2 graphs there even more and really didn’t want to run 4 graphs. So I switched it up and run two Helix 9’s at the bow now along with the 360 and couldn’t be happier. I don’t miss having two units at the console, but I guess it all depends on how you fish. First two pics below are the before, last two are what I am running now.
With your console, I’m not sure how you would do it without using a RAM mount or something similar to still be able to see your gauges…I would try to see if you could run a Helix 12 on a mount by itself and see if that works for you. The split screens on that unit are very good and easy to see and you would still be able to see your gauges.
