2007 Pantera 2 trailer

Well it looks like Im gonna need a welder…… This is on the left side and inside the transom tie down strap. I would like to think I would have noticed it sooner, but I didnt. Just glad I found it now…GeorgeGeorge

I have fixed a couple. Most recent was my buddys 14 puma trailor. Though his was the center member.. all that i have fixed are where thosr angled joints are. Leaving the crator of the welds on the end are a no no. When i fix them i arc gouge the weld seam and make it 100 percent weld metal. A good hand will kno smaw over gmaw process is better. Atleast it can still be welded. I have buddies with other brand trailers that are falling apart and the metal is too thin to repair. Should be an easy fix though.

That one did not fail on the weld. It may have fatigued on the lower weld, though the weld is obviously still in place and the crevice crack is running vertical in the metal alongside it. Not sure why it cracked, though that actually could be considered somewhat impressive.

Obivously if a picture was taken of the underside the orientation would be at the botton weld joint. It looks just as the others i have fixed. The root cause 9 out of 10 times will be non fusion or crator crack. Not saying anything thing bad by no means. I been in the welding 30 yrs. And have tsken many failure analysis classes. I AGREE THAT BCB BUILDS GREAT TRAILERS FOR THEIR GREAT BOATS! This is just something that happens and I have a friend that LOVES to weld for a hobby. He went to school for welding and was in the business for about 10 years and decided he wanted to be a pilot. Now he welds as a hobby. (Good for me!) This is a 2007 trailer that holds my 1998 P2. I just thought I would share for all to see and take a look at yours every now and then. I will try to post a “repaired”picture.GeorgeGeorge

They saw the image and they dont need the section. It was quick decided the lower weld failed for some reason and the side welds were pretty solid tearing the metal. BCB
