I feel like I bought my 2008 Classic all over again today, after my grandson Reid and I checked it out on the St Johns River today. In other words if a seller had been demonstrating it to me, when we got back to the dock, I would have told him, “wrap it up, I will take it!” We re-installed the 24P Fury prop and took it out for a test run. With two of us in the boat, fishing stuff, empty live well and gas tank approx half full, we could get 65 MPH with me at the wheel. Reid, being a little less cautious than me got a run of 67.09 GPS with out a chime walk, but close to it, I think. Our hole shot to plane averaged 4.5 seconds and 0 to 30 MPH averaged 6.5 sec. We were turning around 5500+ RPMs. In comparison with the 23P Trophy, we were holding plane better at lower speeds. Personally, I am very happy with these numbers and I am faster than my old 91 Sabre/150 combo. When we got the dip switches on the back of the Trim/Tack meter for a 2 Cycle motor, the trim meter worked just right making it easier to see where the trim was set on high speed runs. Im not going to be running around at 65+ speeds, but it is nice to know what my boat is capable of doing, even if I dont use it that way. Also, there was some wind and also a bass tournament going on, so there were some wind driven waves and crossing boat wakes to contend with, and I felt like we had a good comfortable ride. I like my Bass Cat Classic and Yamaha 175 HPDI! The motor is nice and quite at idle speeds and it runs great. When we got back to the ramp and loaded my Classic on its Red Fender-ed Trailer, it was one of the best looking, (if not the best) Bass Boat around. Then knowing that I had bought a boat from a family manufacturer who really bends over backwards for their customers, just adds to the pride of ownership. Thanks BCB for the great products you produce and the great people you have building boats and serving your customers. Thanks to Scott, Ivan, Rick and Ron. I love my Bass Cat! Skipjack
