I just purchased a 2008 Cougar AE with a 250 Pro XS but wont take delivery until late next week. It has all analog gauges. I want to add at least a Smatcraft SC1000 merc monitor. Does anyone know if the AE had the blue Smartcraft cable/harness pulled from the engine compartment to the driver console at time of assembly or will I have to purchase and pull a cable? If not already installed, what length digital cable will I need to purchase for a Cougar?

We think that the Cougar Advantage Elite package will be a very popular boat in the late winter and spring seasons. Once they get out and see the value, it should be selected by quite a few of those who dont want to step up to a Puma or Cougar FTD, and are looking past a Pantera II. BCB

If you have analog gauges then you wont have the “blue cable” that you will need for the monitor. You also will have an analog trim sender on your motor that you will have to replace with the digital sender. This is a job that you can complete yourself without too much difficulty. My suggestion would be to remove your analog speedometer from the dash and order the monitor to fill that hole. Get a tape measure and just measure for the length you will need.This monitor can only be purchased from an authorized Mercury dealer I believe. You will love the monitor and it is essential for information that you will need and be glad to have. Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!
