Is that a 225 or 250 Pro XS?God Bless, Stephen
Mike, I have had my 08 FTD w/ 250 ProXS about 3 weeks and I was down this past weekend with a cold so I didnt get to get it out. Last Wednesday I took schillster1 out for a ride and he didnt take any tackle but we had all my stuff. 1 gas tank had 1/4 tank and the other side was at 3/4. No livewells and 80 degree water and I had it up to 79 w/ a 27 Trophy. I dont know the exact jackplate setting because I am running a Bobs hydraulic jackplate. That is around 6000 RPM. At the GAF, Phil drove it up to 77-78 and I had it there the weekend before w/ just 2 hours on her. Once this weather cools down and I get some more time on it this thing is going to be screamin! I have a 27 Tempest that I am going to try eventually. Needless to say I am very impressed and especially w/ the ride difference in this new hull. Judd Lasiter PS – I will get some other pictures up as soon as I can get over this crud and back out on the water.
Judd, you show off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Mike, I am running the same rig and have yet to have the time to do alot of playing with the set-up to get some real #s. I will be spending quite a bit of time on the water over the next couple of weeks and will let you know what I can run. Thanks, Chris

LOL Still havent caught your 81.4…but then again I am not wearing the clothes you are in your picture yet either The real show off is CB – he said he is getting to spend some time on the water, I bet Gville to boot (I wanna throw some frogs/rats). Judd
Judd, my friend who took that pic calls that my “Bumblebee” pic! LOL That was taken in January a couple of years ago on Center Hill Lake in Tennessee. BRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Mike, the only thing faster would be your boat with a 250HO etec!!! HAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Good luck next weekend!
Sounds like the new FTD is becoming the favorite of the big boys. I have not seen one up close yet but I do plan to check one out when our new dealership gets one in stock. Glad to hear another good comment on them though. Chris Coupel Paulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
I cannot get over the 2008 FTD. I told my wife this week that this one maybe my all time favorite. I really liked my 99 Classic and the past Pumas but this thing is truly amazing. From the storage, to the ride and definitely because it is screamin fast. Impressive no doubt! Judd Lasiter PS – I know I owe yall some pictures I will get some, I promise.
Judd… wondering about your performance numbers reference your ftd… I have a manual jackplate, 250 pro xs, trophy plus prop 26 pitch… two guys, full fuel in both tanks….. 76 mph (high 5000 rpm range)… The engine is 1/2 inch above flush… wondering if I need to go another 1/4 inch up with the engine.
Mike, That is all dependent on steering wheel torque. If you have torque, then lower it, if you dont then raise it up a tad. When you have just a touch, your home free. This has come up many times, and all of the set ups and rigs or propellers are different. Some run higher, while some run 3/4″ lower than others. Each must be set on its own. BCB
Mike Your numbers appear to be close with that load………………….2 guys, 50 gallons of fuel, and a 26p prop. Rev limiter is set at 6000 on your engine. Target 5750 – 6000 and you should be fine. In order to attain a higher top end speed youll have to lose some load or possibly run a larger prop. By running the larger prop, youre likely to lose some hole shot and acceleration though. And of course as BCB put it. Steering torque should be used to set it up as well. Good luck!
No way I am going to touch the setup knowledge you have above. Having said that I am running a 27 Trophy w/ a hydraulic plate (I havent ever measured height where it runs best on top) and it is around that 78 range. I have had it to 79 once and I am sure with this cooler weather it should break 80. Those number are with roughly 1/2 tank in each side. I rarely run more than that so I dont packem full. JL
I picked my 08 FTD/250 ProXS up yesterday and put the first 1hr on it today. Is anyone running a Tempest on thier 250Pro XS? I cant wait to finish the break-in and see what it will do. Ill post some pictures this weekend. Jamey
Jamey – I have a 27 Tempest that I will end up playing with at some point after I get the Trophy tweeked where I want it. I will let you know and please do the same it is always interesting to hear other peoples #s. JL
