These are the following changes: New latches for all the premium model boats that cam (for lack of a better term) as you raise and lower the handle and turn much easier. These are stainless steel. 8″ jackplates Stainless Drain Plug for all Premium model boats. Nite Stalker package. This will include 6 LED black lights that are mounted under the rub rail. Additional lights can be purchased for more for a small fee. New Advantage consoles. Little more aerodynamic looking. New gauges across the board. The Merc smartcraft gauges are black faced with white letters, the Rude gauges are white faced with black letters and the Yamaha gauges are the digital full system monitor gauges. New custom design rubrail. Rick did an AWESOME job on this…it doesnt look that much difference but function is improved greatly. Best way to describe it is its like a hard rubber hosed that is pressed into the rail and will compress to protect the boat much better. New 20″ wheels. New Rocca upgraded wheels (pictures down below) New fender trim Sony Ipod cabled Stereo with 120 watt speakers that sound better than anything I have ever heard in a boat. It rivials the wakeboarding systems that are on those boats. We now have ammo All 20 ft hulls will be the same. From the Cougar Advantage, Cougar FTD, Puma and Puma FTD New recessed LED bow light on the Puma FTD New mounts for the bow and stern lights. Rechargeable LED cig lighter light that is wireless and can be used anywhere. New seat foam and let me tell you this was really noticeable in the boats that I drove today. BCB decal is now on the step up on most all the boats. Dual brakes on the trailers of all premium boats. Puma will now have 43 gallons of fuel standard with a 10 gallon optional tank available. Two big things that were mentioned that is worth telling. Rick has a 21ft boat in tooling that was quite impressive to see. He didnt allow us to take pictures but lets just say this thing is “HOT” looking. It has swoops and lines that really make this thing look like it was from the future. The second thing worth mentioning is HUGE and that is anytime throughout the year you purchase a BCB with a Merc DFI motor it will now include a 5 year warranty regardless of whether Merc has a current promotion. This was pretty impressive and I look for some of the other engine manufacturers to make a move to counter this one but as of today Rick said they had not and they were aware of the announcement. Pretty impressive on both Merc, BCB and their dealers to offer this great deal. Here are the pictures….you can see a lot of that stuff in these pictures if you look for them. We are going to eat and attend the dealer awards in a little while but I will do what I can to answer questions later. It is AMAZING what the future holds at BCB for us!!!! The boat with the Rude on it is the Cougar Advantage and the Merc is the new Puma FTD. Redesigned Cougar Advantage console 2009 Puma FTD 2009 upgraded wheel option MORE PICTURES COMING AFTER OUR BANQUET DINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very Nice Judd! Thanks for giving us the “sneak peek” Mike TadlockJmtfrisco, Texas
Thanks Judd…some sharp pictures and some great info on the new BassCats. Rick surely doesnt let any grass grow under his feet!!!
Im spec out a new boat and saw where you mentioned a 21 boat for 09. Had my mind made up on the PUMA, but now interested in the 21 boat you mentioned. Do you have anymore details, will it be available with the rest of the 09? thanks, John W
Judd, Just curious as to the 2009 models–PUMA FTD and COUGAR FTD? Or did I misread this? Also, great news on the Mercury warranty! Mike Whitten
You read it right Mike!
I got to drive the new Puma FTD today and what a great ride. It drives effortlessly at wide open throttle. It requires only very minor driver input. Another new feature it has is a permanent mounted led bow light that tucks in neately under the trolling motor. This is a very neat feature. One again Rick and the BassCat gang have raised the bar! Where is the “drool” icon? Them are going to be some nice rigs for 09!
