Only one sentence describes this boat, baddest bass boat made, period. Im not a Cat owner yet, but my tournament partner is on his second. First one was an 07 Cougar FTD second one is a 2010 Jag. If youve seen the post with Tommy from Rockwall Marine in his red Jag with the 250 HO, then youve seen it. Got to fish with him on Mothers Day in it and it is the ultimate boat in my opinion. I know guys will differ from me in the speed department. This boat is no rocket but fully loaded with two guys, etc it still runs 70+. The room and storage in this boat is ureal. I dont know how you can improve on creature features and being able to lay an 8ft rod on the deck without touching the console, that is amazing. Ive been in love with this boat since then and am hoping to budget one next year.
As a Jag owner i can tell you it is the finest boat i have ever owned. I came over from the go fast boats (Bullet 21XD and Gamblers) and yes, its not a speed demon, but the ride is second to none. Even though I miss the speed every once in a while, I couldnt see myself buying anything else.MikeMike Caponigro Cary, IL 2010 Jaguar/ Merc 250 Pro XS http://www.xtremek9.com
Welcome aboard Brant!Glad you enjoyed the ride in my new Kitty, it is for sure the best of them all.
Hey Brant, DO you remember what your guys s speeds were with the HO and the Jag? With its higher gear ratio I wasnt sure how it would come out of the hole…..Brannon
Brannon-I saw 70.8 on the GPS but I wasnt driving to know if that was all there is and I dont know what the specs on what kind of weight we had in the boat. I say fully loaded meaning, it was full of tackle like you normally would have, oil and accessories. Not sure if the wells had water or if the tanks were full. I also dont know what had been done on motor set up. Boat came out the hole well impressively for a Rude in my opinion. I want to run one with an XS and a SHO to compare.
I got one with a SHO. Come on to SC and SHO me how to drive it. :-)Britt
LOL Gasbasser. Very small adjustments in the wheel will take care of that chine. Also your weight distribution will help with how easy it is to drive through chine. I read your other post with the numbers you are seeing and thats impressive. I feel like the SHO will post better numbers than the Rude. Wish I was closer to you, Id come see that Jag myself.
Brant come on and make a weekend out of it! I am still learning. I am not frustrated though, I just wish someone that knows how to drive one was closer. Gonna get Andy Greene to go out with me one day, hopefully I will get some schooling that day. It seems to behave differently day to day, I guess that is related to the load. I try and keep it full of fuel to keep that variable as constant as possible. My tackle and load doesnt vary much. My partner and his tackle varies slightly. Some days it cruises at 70 with no chine and other days it chines at 70. I had a friend drive it with much more boat experience than me, he was the one that got almost 73 out of it. I do feel it has more, but I am in no hurry. Just enjoying the boat and motor.Britt
It is not the load there Gassbasser, just trim it down and slowly, slowly start bumping the trim up. Dont move the wheel, just trim it up slow. If it starts to walk slowly, softly move the wheel left to slowly, softly put pressure on the engine. Slow and soft. Slow and soft. Everyone we know moves the wheel too much. BCB
You should have seen my friend with the “experience” he looked like he was having a seizure over there driving. ha ha. But the boat was running nicely. I will try SLOW and SOFT, to the left of course. Got my first tourney Saturday in my new boat. I will post my numbers if they improve, slow and soft… slow and soft…. I can do that. Thanks for the advice. I just need more seat time.Britt
