2010 Jaguar in rough water

Hey all, new to the site and seriously considering a switching from another brand considered to be good in rough water to a 2010/11 BassCat Jaguar. I have done a ton of research on BassCats and they sound and look awesome. I am going to see my first Jag on Wednesday and cant wait to test drive it. Closest dealer that has one is 3 1/2 hours away, but should be well worth the drive. I live right on Lake Erie (Huron, Oh) and fish Erie 90% of the time so having a solid, reliable, well built boat that is good in rough water is a must for me. I currently have a 2003 ranger 521 and have no complaints about it, just want to upgrade to a new boat with hopefully better quality, customer service and reliability. I will be sold on the Jag as long as the ride is as good or better in rough water. Does anyone out there have any personal experience with a Jag in rough water (especially on Erie or the other Great Lakes)? I appreciate any advice/comments on the subject and seriously hope to be joining the BassCat family in the near future.Thanks in advance,John

Take your check book with you because I would be very very surprised if you didnt think the Jag rough water ride was much better than what youre coming out of.

We do not usually make a direct comment on the boats ride, and let you decide. Though a Jaguar should absolutely out ride everything else on the market. There is an estimated 7″ of increased bow rise over the Puma and Cougar hulls. It should be exceptionally dry and if there were a catch it would be speed as it is very large. Though most folks looking at a Jaguar understand it is massive and to be such performance expectations change. BCB

I have seen 73 in my Jag with a 250 SHO. I dont have a lot of experience in 70+ MPH rigs, so I tend to get real cautious at that speed. I am still learning to drive it. The boat rides fabulous. I took someone out the other day that has 20+ years in bass boats, all he could talk about was how big and deep the boat was and how good it rode. I came out of a 195″ S boat, so of course I think it rides good.britt

I have owned a couple of “big boats like a Bullet 21Xd and Gambler 2200. They were very fine boats but I can honestly say that the JAG is the best riding boat I have ever owned. Its a heavy boat but very nimble and the ride in rough water in fantastic. Keep in mind that any bass boat is going to take a bit of a beating in rough water, but the Jag does an outstanding job.
