Running a 2005 Merc Racing 250XS with Detwiller hyd. plate and a 26 Fury or a 27 Trophy (B&B by Mark Croxton). What is a good starting point for each prop? Im thinking 3″ below pad for the Trophy and 3.5″ below for the Fury. Any suggestions? Also, are you measuring the pad height from the little cupped area or the flats on either side? Thanks

Just lower it and take it up based on the wheel torque. That is the best method and start with the plates close to level with each other. BCBLast edited by Bass Cat Boats on November 5th, 2009, 2:59 am, edited 1 time in total.

Have a similar setup with a trophy. Measure the cylinder between the two plates on your detwiller. mine runs best when that measurment is about 2 3/4 inches between the two. That equates to about 2 1/2 below the pad depending on how and where you measure. Have you ran the fury yet.

This is the best way to describe what most on the BCB board do. 1. First Level your boat lowering the trailer jack. 1a. Put level in rear of the boat. 2. Level your motor by putting leveler on your cavitation plate. 3. Measure the middle of the “V” in your bottom pad. 4. Measure the center of your prop shaft. 5. Subtract Prop Shaft measurement from the Bottom pad measurement for Below Pad measurement.
