Dear BassCat Boats,On your 12 Sabre FTD model, can you please tell me approximate measurements forA- Recessed foot pedal well to the end of first hatch. (Before you step down onto the icebox)B- From the back of the seats to the engine well.Thank you for your time.Fongster

Your obviously checking deck space. Since the recess starts in the deck you need the front end of carpeting to rear of deck. Get measurements at distances from the end of rub rail for comparisons also, not just width at seat post, etc. It is clear you know the rod box lids extend past the cooler step mentioned. They may not be able to get those right now if no Sabre FTD models in house. BCB

Fongster,I have an 08 Sabre FTD and the measurements are: Front deck to back of 1st compartment is 54 1/2″, Front deck to the back of the rod lockers is 71″, Rear deck from the front of the livewells to the splashwell is 35 1/2″.Hope this helps.Wayne

Rough Wate Ride:Here are my experiences with my 2012 SabreFTD/175HPDI. Wayne and others may have additional comments too. Rough water ride of my 2012 SabreFTD is fantastic and very similar to 2008 SabreFTD models. Ive been in some legitimate and unexpected severe 25+ MPH winds with my SabreFTD with rollers getting to 2-3 plus waves on a open water Reservoir last February. The SabreFTD hull design easily rode on top of those waves for the best comfort one can expect in adverse conditions. No spearing waves or back breaking bottoming out. Now I am not saying I was riding on a bed of feathers but it was not bone jarring either. I was running 35 plus mph in those conditions and felt safe. Ride and Handling thought:I was out with my son today who is home for a couple of weeks. Hes had very little experience behind the wheel in my previous bigger Bass Cat bass boats. Today he had us going 65 plus mph on the GPS with minimal chine walk and easily drove the boat with confidence. That is someone with little to no experience. I was impressed hmm, hmm, not with my sons driving ability but how easy the Sabre FTDs hull made it easy for him to drive the boat with confidence. Nuff Said….

Thank you for your comments Flyswatter, they are much appreciated.I am currently in an Skeeter SX180/115HO Etec and are looking at upgrading to a Sabre FTD. I have found the Skeeter great but just looking at my options to upgrade.Due to my storage limitations, I am leaning towards a Sabre FTD but are gathering as much info as I can.Flyswatter, Are your measurements the same as quoted by Wayne??Thank you.

BassCat,My cigarette lighter was never connected from the factory in my 2009 Sabre, it has a radio – would it cause problems if I do connect it? If I can – is there any easy way to tell which wire would go to which post. The wires are there – just never connected. Thanks
