This thread is interesting. A year ago I purchased my 2012 Margay with 46 hours on the engine. Out of the gate and the first time out the step-cooler leaked in the same manner that is described here, with water pooling (in the carpet) all around the drain in the cockpit. As I recall there were at least a few other Margay owners who echoed that they had the same problem. Bass Cat Boats moderator stated that with a couple of months they would have an answer/fix for this obvious factory defect. In reading this thread, the implication here is that the leaking cooler on the 2012 Margay (the re-introduction year for the model) is an odd thing to happen. As if the issue has never been aired on this board. The closest dealer to me is two hours away. I have failed to take the boat into the dealer, as I reasoned that if the manufacturer had no explanation on a fix … the dealer would surely lack the know-how to properly address this issue.I had initially called, and the service department had a “ghee, thats too bad” attitude. This leaking issue has likely existed since the day the boat rolled off of the line. The response here to bassnguy addresses the “also” part of the post (the issue with wearing tires). No acknowledgement is made about the leaking cooler issue, which was primary in his post.Very frustrating. Last edited by cjrich on May 13th, 2015, 12:33 am, edited 14 times in total.
