Glad to see a Louisiana Boy in the Winner Circle!! It was tuff fishing due to weather condition but they had some Pigs Caught!! Want to tell the Pierce Family thanks for putting on a great event for their Costumers!!!!Brody Doucet
Probably a good bet they have,,,,,but thats just for one of them to know,,,,,,,pretty safe bet it wont be on Lake Lewisville !
They are probably not going to let anyone in on that yet.
Anything east of the Mississipi or Arkansas or Alabama and I am there!!!Last edited by Tbretthauer on February 16th, 2012, 3:30 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Kentucky Lake!! 5 hrs from Mt Home, Birmingham, Little Rock, Indianapolis. Its the largest reservoir artificial lake by surface area in the United States east of the Mississippi River. Plus I want some people on Kentucky Lake to see a pack of BassCats.
Day 2 was absolutely gorgeous but what a tough fishing day. Somebody always finds a way to get bites but we sure didnt. Just had to kind of relax, sit back and enjoy seeing all the pretty BassCats running by. There were a lot more moving around on day 2. We werent sure if fishing was just that tough or if everybody was just enjoying the chance to air out the kitties. Fishing was just that tough for us. We tried to hunker down and make our little fish (that we caught a limit on Thurs) bite but it just wasnt happening, so we ended up moving to 2 different areas throughout the day. Still only burned 10 gallons of gas for the 2 days. Really enjoyed talking to the people I did meet while waiting in lines for weigh-in bags, for hamburgers, etc. Our group that stayed together is made up of some great guys. I only wish Sam Rush could have been there to make it a little more complete. I had tears when Rick was talking about Sam and getting choked up. Billy Mc commented on my LSU flag attached to my stern light pole. I told him that was in honor and memory of Mr Sam. Being my first OI, I was expecting the Elite guys to just kind of be a presence and represent BassCat. I thought it was pretty cool that they were the ones doing our livewell checks and calling out boat numbers for blast off each morning. Overall, Id say it was a great experience. I know it was a lot of work that Rick and everyone at BassCat when through to put on the tournament so far from Mountain Home, but I know a lot of us that cant make it up there really appreciate the effort taken to come down and give us the chance to participate.Last edited by toledobasser on April 6th, 2013, 7:02 pm, edited 1 time in total.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
I know of no other boat company that invests as much time and energy into a owners tournament. Be proud that you run a Bass Cat.Corky
You are right TB. We were sitting pretty after day 1 being in the top ten, but Friday was just brutal for us. I knew the 43 degree am temp would slow the bite a bit, but had no idea it would shut it down for us. We caught all of ours on Thursday in less tha 2 ft of water, but managed only 1 keeper the second day. I did let a few get off, but nothing that would have really helped us. Oh well, i was a beautiful day, and glad I got to experience my first OI.
How many boats this year ?
