I have a new P4 with the standard Beede gauges with Merc 200 pro xs. The trim gauge works but it reads backwards. The up is labled on the left and the down is on the right. It works properly as far as the trim up and down readng but sweeps right to left instead of left to right. Are the new gauges like this? It seems to work fine but its just odd to me.thanks

Take your boat back to the dealer and they will adjust it. I have the same ones also. Takes 5 min!My new 2012 P4 was the same way. The way its set at the factory is different from Mercury. My Tech at the dealer said its something to do with different ohms at both places. They got mine reading really close. Now the Smart craft and the upgraded ones BCB has doesnt have this problem.Last edited by Guest on February 5th, 2013, 5:57 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Sorry I was talking about a different issue. Tho you may need to have this done. Some gauges read left to right and right to left. Does not bother me, you will get use to it! The pre post was if your trim gauge wasnt reading right. Like up, down, and middle.Last edited by Guest on February 5th, 2013, 6:02 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I am assuming that is an “analog” gauge? Might simply be wiring crossed up. You wont hurt anything if you reverse the wires and try it that way. Thats what I would try. Hi Larry. I didnt realize who I was talking to until later when I read this again. Hope you are enjoying your new P4. Thats a nice boat and Ill be waiting to see you post pictures of it for us. if up is up and down is down, then it is proper. If they are reversed then the gauge is for another brand, and JeffNaish described.

BCB- It does work properly reading up and down. I just have never seen one read from right to left properly or not. It doesnt bother me as long as it reads correct which it does.Jim, Nice to hear from you. My wife and I are enjoying the boat and the fishing is starting to pick up since its warming up so quickly. Had a few minor issues to work out. Had full water filter alarm on first startup and had to learn how to siphon the tank and change the filter but we love the boat. It fits in the garage with dollies so its out of the weather as well. I will post some pictures when I get a chance as well.
