I have a 2014 Mercury 250 ProXS with approximately 130 hours on the engine. I was idling through a long no wake area on Sat. when my engine alarm sounded (2) beeps. I checked water pressure, thermostats, and the Smartcraft monitor for any indication of what might be causing the alarm. I found nothing. I fished the entire tournament with minimal idling and experienced no additional problems. When I came into weigh in I had the same alarm go off after idling the long no wake. I also checked the oil level in the tank under the cowl and everything was fine. I turned the key off and reset the alarm and experienced no further problems. Has anyone else experienced similar problems. I have an appointment set to have the engine looked at by my mechanic later in the week. Could it be a “throttle position sensor”? I did have SLIGHT pressure on the hot foot to increase the boat’s momentum through the no wake area BOTH times. Your thoughts…
