A total of 221 teams were competing for this 2015 Puma FTD the past two days here at Sam Rayburn. These two anglers may look familiar since they are the reigning champs from our last visit here in 2013. Congrats to Dave Cavell and Albert Collins for pulling off this win by the slimmest margin of victory in the history of our Owners events! Their two day weight of 33.13 pounds edged out Lonnie and Billy Ray Turner by only 1/100th of a pound. Well have full results posted soon, as well as image galleries from the AM/PM each day. For now, wed like to give all of our owners a big THANK YOU for attending this event. Anglers from as far as Canada made the trek to TX, and we are already looking forward to bringing this tournament back to AR for the 30th annual BCB Invitational in 2016!A special thanks to all of our sponsors, our BCB promotional staff, the volunteers, and our own employees who put in countless hours to pull this off. We appreciate you all taking the time to participate, safe travels back home!Day Two Top Ten:1. Dave Cavell / Albert Collins – 33.132. Lonnie Turner / Billy Ray Turner – 33.123. Want to thank Rick and the entire gang for a great event. I was very impressed how organized it was. Just a professional top notch crew you have there. Look forward to all the results as I had to leave after weighing my fish partner had to get back home. Sure hope my number was not drawn for the boat lol.The national anthem prior to blast off was great too, thanks
Yes.. Thanks BCB for another great event… one thing that I didnt expect to see.. the guys on the registration form.. are the ones on this page! Great job and great sacks!waiting to see the entire standings list posted… we had to leave before we could see a list after day two.tc
Had a Great Time at the event. Congrats to the winners. BCB put on a nice event. I am glad to be an Owner. Wish partner and I could have gotten on some bigger fish. Probably caught 20 fish on day 2 and just about all of them were keepers. Only problem was they were all between 1.5 and 2lbs. Couldnt really gain any ground culling! Fishing in the woods was an interesting experience. Seemed as though the further we went in the smaller the fish became. If I had it to do over I would have focused more on the areas leading into the woods instead of actually fishing in the woods!

After we got back into the trees, I caught a nice keeper during practice off somebodys firewood stack in their flooded yard on a Ribbit. We just knew with the water temps so good, there would be some spawning if you could get back to them. We sure didnt find any. We even put some tree trimming equipment in the boat so that we could get to some areas where others had not been. The last few hours of the second day, I started flipping little outside bushes and catching better fish. Prior to that we had caught fish on Ribbits, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, Red Eye Shad, Senko, and flipping a D-Bomb. We had located some schooling fish and had several on a Sexy Dawg Jr but couldnt get them in the boat. We had found those fish schooling on Tuesday during practice and they were still there Thursday. We decided that on Friday we would go there first and get a quick limit. Guess what happened…….thats right….they didnt show up at all. If we had figured out to stay on the outside sooner, no telling what might have happened. As it was I caught a 5+ on Thursday off a big dead willow tree and the 8.42 on Friday on one of those little outside bushes. So we had some good fish in the area. Oh well. I was just happy to be fishing another tournament with my dad, and he was happy to have been there to see me catch the 8 pounder. Overall it was another success as far as we were concerned. My partner and I were both newbies and can only begin to fathom all of the effort that went into making this event happen. Kudos to all who were there, but especially to the Houston dealer who brought a Motorguide TM to replace my busted MinnKota on Thursday morning before the blast off and the BCB folks that assisted in the install. We had a hard time finding fish and only weighed two small ones Thursday. On Friday we pulled into our first spot and watched the folks who beat us there add one to the livewell as we pulled in and land another moments later that probably went 4#. We weighed four on Friday but the one we boated ten minutes before weigh-in made the trip that much sweeter: 7.47 pounds on a blue/chrome Rattle Trap off the island by Twin Dikes ramps. I was fishing in ten feet of water and throwing parallel to the island. I caught two 13″ fish before the hog grabbed it.The “family” aspect of BCB was on display everywhere and was great to see. Glad to be a new member.
My wife and I would like to thank Rick and all of the Bass Cat people for a great time. This was her first real tournament ever and at age 66 she didnt know what to expect and was thrilled by the way she and I were treated. When we weighed our fish on Thursday with Ike and he helped her hold her 5+ pounder for pictures she felt special. Ike also kidded us for being the “Best Dressed Couple”. On Friday Kevin Short quickly became my wifes favorite by his polite manner and the way he kept calling her “Miss Ruby”. It was a extremely well run event and I dont think I will have a problem getting her to go to the next event. Larry Brumley Topeka Kansas.
