2017 Sabre FTD and 8 foot rods?

Will a 2017 Sabre FTD rod locker safely hold an 8 foot rod?

Not sure about 8 footers but Ive got 3 that are 76 (1 of them may be 711 I cant recall) that fit on the passenger side with the organizer installed. A dual console would probably be more difficult no matter the length of the rod

I have 73″ rods. Organizer is out and use rod socks. Also dual console. No issues at all. Have 13 rods in the port locker.

The inside tubes are longest and the outside tubes are restricted by the hull.

I took the tubes out of mine. I have a 7 11″ in mine on the passenger side.

My son put a 711″ in our Sabre (non FTD) numerous times. He put it below the rod tubes without any issues. I put in in one of the rod tubes not knowing where he normally kept it. I didnt have any issues putting it in I had a hard time getting it out. Almost cost me a new rod that my son had just bought. There were no issues storing it in the bottom of the rod locker.

I have tried my 76″ flippin/pitchin rods all of which are Duckett micro magics, they fit in, but could hear them rubbing the hull as they were put in, The main issue I have had was getting them back out, It was a boogerbear to say the least I can see breaking the micro guides off not to mention them rubbing and fraying the line causing break offs from the tip contacting the inner hull. So now I just put them in the cab of the truck sticking thru the sliding back glass or leave them strapped up on the front deck.

I only have two 8 foot rods, but I do not want to break them. I like to store them in rod lockers, and it sounds like it will fit below the rod tubes.

I keep two 79″ Punchin/Flippin rods in the locker of my Sabre FTD. No problem with them fitting. Just watch the wiring to your trim switches up front. I pulled it loose from the switches a couple of times before I got the wiring pushed up out of the way enough not to be an issue.Ive since taken out my tubes, inserted and glued a piece of carpet up into the bow, and use TRC rod covers now.
