2020 Bass Cat Lineup and Changes?

The line is consistent in 2020 with limited changes. They are minimal with a few new parts and options. Matching brand Packages for the new graphs and trolling motors. They did go to grease hubs and DOT 5 brake fluid on the trailers. The new Jaguar pretty much tops the line off for 2020. And the new SP packages are addition of the Puma FTD with choice of it or the Cougar FTD at the same price. Then the new Pantera II SP Series with three Helix 7 graphs and several nice features.

They previously used grease when other companies were Oil Bath. The company was more pleased with previous grease hubs successes over time. They felt the only reason grease hubs gave issues were related to usage of a grease gun on the end bearing caps, pressurizing and blowing a two way seal. With Vault there is no lubricant remaining in a seal failure.

Vault hubs were endorsed by the previous UFP ownership and the success was acceptable in prior years. Lately there seem to be more issues right on the five year time line. The grease hubs also require nothing special, other than parts, to service and the thixotropic grease is harder to find.

The reason for DOT 5 is reducing rust in older brake systems as DOT 5 is not hydroscopic and doesn’t absorb moisture. It is also a thicker fluid.

BCB, just curious what would be needed to make the change back from the Vault system to a grease hub on an existing trailer. Would the races, bearings, and seals be the same, or would they be different? Then I guess just add a bearing buddy after repacking, to complete the change? Thanks.

Parts will be working to stock conversion parts kits. Right now our initial thoughts are we don’t think you need to do anything other than change seals and grease. We will let them confirm that though. BCB doesn’t suggest you use a grease gun in any case.
