Is it normal for a bump when I let off of the truck brakes from a complete stop?

I know there is a cap on the tongue for adding brake fluid, but being a brand new boat I would not think low fluid would be an issue.

There is a significant slam from just taking my foot off the brake pedal.

I’ve found there are several reasons this can happen besides low brake fluid. First, your brake system may need to be bleed, taking the air out of the system. This can be done by yourself, but if you are new to boating and brake systems it would be best to take it to your dealer. The second cause could be a bad shock on your receiver, but considering this is a fairly new trailer this would be very unlikely. A third thing which can cause a “bump” (assuming you have the right ball size for the trailer) is the ball hitch on your towing vehicle is sloppy in the receiver. You can check this by simply lifting up/down and right to left on your trailer ball. Hopefully. someone else with have input and you can figure this out. Good Luck.
