We are in the midst of re-planning the October 2021 Owners Invitational on the backs of today’s CoVid surge..
We hope that CoVid 19 gives us an opportunity for an Open atmosphere in our Spring 2022 Owners Invitational, usually in April. We are also engaged in planning for that event.
Presently we are scaling this years back considerably. Registration will likely be limited to one day with all access being outdoors and spacing a priority. We may decide to reduce participation and the event could even be a three day event with a final day cut. Plans are being made to possibly reduce the number, or number of participants and isolate contact daily.
There is a consideration to increase the entry fee, we also realize this will possibly further thin the field some. (< Edited 8/29)
While we understand there are two sides of the opinion on CoVid 19, we must concern ourselves with the safety of our guests and staff.
This summers “Excellence In Action 2022” Dealer Meeting and Public Demo Day was overall a successful event. We do not have any knowledge that any transmission occurred around our events. However, we are painfully aware that transmission could exist by simply getting outside your bubble and from numbers of sources.
CoVid tracing indicated we had two (2) gentlemen from one dealership return home testing positive for CoVid. We also had 17 states represented at the Public Demo Day and two (2) brothers returned to their home state testing positive for CoVid. One of the brothers services are today and we pray for the family.
The situation around CoVid places a burden of responsibility on us as a company, to take safety precautions seriously, and we are fully intent on reducing areas an infection could transfer.
We hope to have registration open 5 (five) weeks before the event.
Thank you,
BCB

With the current situations on the CoVid its very understanding on your decision to scale back. I’ve been fishing the tournaments for years but due to CoVid my plans are to skip this years. Thanks for the update. Pray for the lost of the family for their lost.
Why not just have liability forms for people to sign? Or is it more so about the optics.
Slackjaw, it’s not that simple as we don’t want to burden a family should their loved ones get ill from simply traveling to an event. Everyone today understands the risk, though the factory staff still must come to grips with challenges among people we care deeply about.
Children and grandchildren today are tasked emotionally with spreading the virus to their loved ones. Many grandparents have passed to heaven from the hugs they emotionally can’t bear to do without.
We can do without this if we have to.

BCB, it seems to me if you are intent on having the tourney that you would require all to be vaccinated. Other wise be prepared for some sick and /or dying folks after the event. Just makes better sense to cancel it again. Hate to say it but you cannot fix stupid in some folks who refuse to get the shot. Be aware that the boosters are out there now. Got mine ! Get yours! Have a great Day !
Not sure you are aware, but being vaccinated does not stop contracting nor transmitting the virus. As for fixing stupid judging others on a personal decision is not very honorable. One can disagree with others without name calling. Cheers bro!
Walking out the door of your house and coming into contact with any one human being, vaccinated or unvaccinated, is the risk we all take. It only takes one person. Doesn’t matter if YOU are vaccinated or not.
People, the burden of responsibility in the end doesn’t lie on BCB in an event like this IMO. We all know the risks daily in this new world we live in. However, they probably feel responsible in having a gathering of the masses and I get it.
In the end it’s just a special fishing tournament and if it’s held I’ll be front left scale weighing fish and giving high fives God willing. Because he’s the only one garaunteeing you tomorrow weather you’ve taken the jab or not.
Hope to see all in October – Bug
The kids and grand kids are a particular concern in the Covid world. Until there is a vaccine approved for them, they are unprotected. Hopefully that approval will come soon. Have inside info that the studies are showing great results as it has for those 12 and over. It shouldn’t be long before kids are able to get the shots. While true even those vaccinated can transmit the virus it is more unlikely then an adult or child not vaccinated. Those vaccinated are much less likely to end up in the hospital too as the vaccine offers considerable protection from the worst symptoms. Hospitals are reporting 90 percent of those in the hospital or intensive care are not vaccinated. So smart people who do their research will understand that getting the shot is way less risky then not getting it. I understand BCB’s concerns. Who wants to be responsible for someone coming to a fun event and happen to catch the virus resulting in them dying or worse one of their kids.
