So after reading that article, I check the engine and all bolts were tight. But I did find that there was about 1/16 to 1/18 movement in the motor from left to right. I found that it was lose on the tilt tube. On the right side(drivers) there is a sleeve that you loosen the allen bolt and unscrew the collar to take up the slack. Now the motor is tight. I am not sure if this would have affected the stability or not. But we’ll see.

I wanted to follow-up with my finds. There is NO set PTP setting. All setups are dependent on how the boat is loaded. With my motor down it was hell on wheels to control the boat and steering was crazy heavy. I raised the motor up and now it drives like a dream. I couldn’t run mine at the highest point because when you enter rough water I felt I didn’t have as much control. So I decided to settle on 3/4 up from where I started to where I finished. Now I loaded the boat with three kids and couldn’t get the nose up. So I had to lower for the extra nose weight.

Now months went by, I moved from three lead acid batteries to two lithum. Now the ass sits like a duck on water. so I have to go back down with the motor to get bite to lift the front. But chine and heavy steering are gone!

Rich, which 4 blade prop/pitch are you running to get 68-69? Also, where is your JP set – Flush, Up, etc.

I am running a 25p Bravo 1FS (65.0 mph at 5800 RPMs – JP is ½” up from level). With my B&B 23p Fury3 I have run 67mph at 5770 – this is with the JP flush. I am going to run the 23p Fury3 tomorrow with the JP up ½” after reading these posts. Will post my updates tomorrow.
