Running a 2013 Puma with 250 ProXS.Recently had the lower unit replaced under warranty with a new water pump and impeller.First run since the lower unit was installed, let the motor warm up and it got to 151F before it dropped. The next cycle it got up to around 140 before dropping, then eventually settled around 127 while idling and 124-126 while running. The air temp was 90 and water temp 79 and I had a good stream out the tell tale (1.3-1.6 psi).I gave the motor a good flush at the end of the day. The next day on initial start up, it warmed up to 141 before cycling down, then next cycle got to 133 and again stabilized around 127 at idle and 126 on plane. Ive noticed the motor temp climb into the upper 130s on initial start up before, almost like the thermostats are sticky but never as high as 150. (granted that was in the spring when it was cool).I got no alarms or faults and the engine runs great.Im new to the ProXS, so am not sure if this is normal at initial start up. Im thinking that I should check the compressor strainer and thermostats for debris. I find it weird that this only happens on the initial start up of the day.I understand that to remove the stats, I need to slide the fuel rails back to gain access. This makes me a bit nervous as Im not overly mechanically inclined. Is this something I should be messing with or should I take it to a technician?Any thoughts would be appreciated.
