At what RPMs does the new 250 quit making power? What prop are most 250/Puma/FTD running? Thanks in advance for the help.

5950 is the torque range we have been told. We have found it to be closer to 5900 and in that range.

27″ Trophy is my choice. Based on the performance numbers you are getting on your rig (what Ive heard from Charlie Smith), you should be telling us what prop YOU are running…Last edited by Gary Hollander on March 22nd, 2008, 1:00 pm, edited 1 time in total.

From our experience the 27 is a tad too tall loaded and most we better with the 26″ Trophy on the new hull.

Gary, I was running a stock 27 Trophy. I had 25 gallons of fuel, 15 r/r, a front box full of winter gear and the box in front of the console all my tackle. I backed the run up running the other way. I was running 5940 rpms. The motor only had 2 hours on it. Like Rick says I think the 27 may be to tall for the heat of the summer for my application.. Maybe a 26-1/2 would be ideal. I really like the Cougar, it runs like the Jaguar used to. I am going to be in your area next weekend. I am fishing a buddy tournamnet with my dealer on your lake. Scrimager

Sounds to me like you have the right prop! In the summer youre probably going to lose a couple of hundreds rpms and youre still at 5700+. The 250 Pro XS has a rev limit set at 6K.

Jeff, Those are great numbers! I run the 27″ Trophy year-round, because down here, once you get past Easter, you cant run full-out anyway! Stay in touch… Gary Hollander
