250xs–no water psi at idle

Could some of you 250xs oweners please tell me what water psi (smaartcraft) you are having after running your boat, then at idle? Just replaced impeller and still no psi ..thanks jms

less than 5 psig. I dont even know if mine registers. It doesnt concern me at idle as long as the engine remains in the desired temperature range. Scroll through the smart craft menu and monitor your engine temp.

yes. Worry about your temperature as well as pressure. There is little pressure at an idle. If you have Smart Craft gauges, then check that temperature. BCB

Yes I allways have sm set on psi and temp, psi is 0.1 and temp is rising after running then idle back to ramp. temp warning sounded at 170. Have replaced impeller and no change.Cold idle is normal at 2to 3 psi, its after a hard run then idleing that psi is only 0.1. and temps start to rise 147 and above. thermostat; pull it and test it in water with a cooking thermometer and watch what temp it opens. BCB

If a thermostat is faulty,would it affect the psi at idle? I know it would make the temp go up or down but would psi drop to 0 on a warm engine at idle? Ok , I know I,lm really lost here,so all help is appreciated. —thanks jms

It sounds like either a lodge in the system or a thermostat. Try that and unless you are close to a dealer with a DDT box, then the DDT could tell what the issue is. BCB

Not sure on 250 but had same problem on old 150. There was a relief poppet which keeps the water pump from dead heading while thermostats are closed. It got trash ” a little stick” caught in the seat which was causing it not to seal off. cleaned it out and no more problems.
