Thinned blades are good for performance, bad for longevity. If you like to run across sand bars and the like, they are even worse. I have a couple here, one being my favorite chopper (small ear, nowhere near as brutal as the regular choppers) and these things tend to suffer from blade flex, fatigue, and blade throwing.
