We have been running one for the past few months with good success.
Where can one be had in the DFW area? BCB, what have you run the 27 on? Any performance numbers you can share?Jmtfrisco, Texas
The numbers are a little better than the 26 and it will keep you off the limiter. Hole shot is still good also. Mileage comes down just a little. We have the original prototype and a first run production. BCB
jmt56tx, I got mine from Jaco. They had just received the shipment. In fact they were still in the shipping box when I called yesterday. I paid $468 and shipping was free.
BCB, Thanks for the report. Mine should be arriving next week. Looking forward to getting it dialed in. Once that happens I will post numbers. I have been running a 27 Trophy and a worked 28 purchased from PA. Cannot wait to see what this bad boy will do.
YellowJacket, what boat are you going to run it on? I am running a 26 Fury on my 08 Cougar FTD with a ProXS 250. Top speed is 78.6 mph and I am NOT a lightweight at 260lbsJmtfrisco, Texas
BassCat: I ordered my 09 Puma FTD with a 26 Fury prop. We continue to wait for a Mercury 250 Pro XS for the boat that I ordered with a 26 Fury prop. Would the 27 Fury be a better prop for the boat to have both a great hole shot and top end? Would it be advisable to have you provide a 27 Fury instead of the 26 Fury when the motor comes in? Would you be able to trade the 27 for the 26 since the 26 was already ordered? Should I have both a 26 and 27 Fury? Sorry for all of the questions. I was sure hoping to make the Owners Invitational this year, but I guess I will have to rely on making it next year. I am very excited about my boat and can not wait to take that first ride. Thank you, Corky
Only if you carry a light load Corky. Most will prefer the 26 on the heavier rigs. You would have to run pretty light to use a 27 all year long.
Jmt56tx, I will be running it on a 06 Puma/250XS. I run a super light load (I am talking 2-3 Plano boxes and only the rods I will need), rarely more than 20 gallons of gas (saddles), and I weigh 165. In addition, I live in Oregon where we do not have to deal with the heat and humidity. Also, I am running at just above sea-level. The 27 should provide some interesting results…at least that is what I am hoping for. Neil
Really gets up and goes. Changed from the 26 Trophy Plus. Hole shot better and acceleration is noticably faster. Air temp 73 Water temp 65.
jhscrimager, There is a difference in results based upon the year models. Though most high perf nuts like the 27 Fury, whereas we feel the average angler needs the 26 Fury. Though again older models of the original 20 hulls are different than the Wide Body and Euro hulls. BCB
BCB the boat I have would be a 2008 CougarFTD with 250ProXS. I do run a 26 Fury. I was curious if the 27 would add any top end. Thanks, Jeff
It will depend on how close you are to the rev limiter now? If your tippin it on the max, then yes. If you are not, then we dont think so.
Not to highjack your post jscrimager but I also have a similar question. I run the 26 Trophy and I turn it right at rev limit with a FULL load. Which Fury would yall recommend for my Cougar?
Either in that case as they will vary and it is hard to say, though we would start with a 26.
