I own a classic with a 200 opti. Ran it with a worked 26 Fury this summer by myself and ran 73-74 hitting the rev limiter. Is the 27 possible? Hole shot is not a huge priority to me, Id rather see a few extra MPH. Please help
I think a 27 Fury would be too much prop for that setup. I think you would lug the engine if you carry any kind load in the boat. Id have some cup added to the reworked 26,should keep you from hitting the limiter.
I think it is very possible. Them motors have always seemed to turn out one out of 20 that was way ahead of pack. I had a different brand with a 2005 200 on it that would hit the rev limiter with a 27 fury in cooler months . ( was a pure stud) the other brand was bout 400 lb heavier than the classic also. It would run 77-78 an hole shot was decent with 2 folks an live wells full……. I got a 27 fury thats new only ran one time, if you want to try it. I bought it thinking I would run cool months on my cougar but hadnt needed with the newer 250.
