I sure hope ending the subsidy means a cut back on ethanol. However, long before any subsidy was ever given by the feds, Indiana had ethanol gas. Id say it began in Indiana in the late 90s and has been there ever since.
And they want to go to E-15? The stuff does not reduce polution and is causing a rise in food costs (corn in a major food grain). The US needs to drop this entirely and just drill for our known reserves of oil. If we want to produce something to burn bio diesel will work much better which is why much of europe is switching.
Lets just all hope the “under the table deals” arent enough to get this subsidy back rolling again. If your unlucky enough to live in the state of Missouri (as I do) we have been dealing with a 10% mandate since our last governor left office. He somehow got this put through just before he left office. I wonder if he had any personal money tied up in the production of ehtanol???It will be great once a GOOD replacement comes along for oil but adding alcohol is not a good idea. If it was WHY do we need all of the additives to make sure our engines run clean now?? Politicians need to start acting like elected officials and begin listening to the folks that put them there!!!
