Topic: 6 month old yellow bow roller already shredded ?

Maybe its my loading technique ? As mentioned in subject title the yellow bow roller I installed about 6 months ago has shown accelerated wear.Already the roller is deformed where the bow eye rests.Its about halfway to touching roller bolt.I know the old black rubber one took several years to get to that condition.Kinda bummed about longevity if this is normal.

I just replaced the lower roller on the bow of my boat, I looked at those expensive yellow plastic ones….. Glad I went with the old black rubber one for $5.00! Sorry thats no explanation of why but spending more on the “premium” isnt always better I guess.

Should rename a “Bow Stop/Bumper” and not a bow roller. Mine has a deep groove worn in the same spot on the roller as it does not move/roll.

I had hoped that the new yellow roller would stop the modest damage to the bow. Not sure it mad a difference and it sure is softer. Showing wear already after 6 uses.

I think its the power loading. Ive had to replace a couple and noticed yesterday the one on my boat is showing a good groove. It stops quite a bit of weight, if you power load them.

Just wondering,do yall rotate your bow roller when it gets a groove??That may help…
