Had a 93 PII DC with a 3.0 Johnson LE 200 … Boat and motor combo NEVER saw less than 69 MPH fully loaded, however, she did not have a very good hole shot. Sherms sold me a 25p Trophy plus and I was back to low 70s with a very good hole shot. In 2006, I blew the side wall out of my Johnson 200. D and R sports in Kalamazoo, had a 200 Merc EFI, but the 3.0 big block. Better hole shot, wicked fast in fact, and low to mid 70s GPS (74.6 best, routinely hit 73-73.4, with two 71-72) on top with load and a 25P Tempest Plus turning 5800-5900. Now, I never hit 78 like the Johnson did, but I did not work with the set up as much before finances forced me to sell the boat.I am assuming you are mounting a 2.5 litre. You should expect a great hole shot and speeds on that hull, if set up correctly with motor running the way it should run, you should have no problems hitting the 68-72 mark with a tournament load. Just my opinion.
