Just curious as to what you guys use this storage compartment for. It is in front of the cosole(drivers side) it looks like half of a rod box, but my rod box is on the passenger side. I did have life jackets in it but moved them to under the seat. The bottom of this compartment is angled so i dont think there is enough room for a tackle organizer. Would like to here some of your ideas as to what you are using it for

It was just a short storage. In the 90s we used lots of soft packs for baits. The Plano/Shimano/Falcon style systems were not common then, nor had they been improved to single molded wells. These are just for storage and you drop in what you can. Some used it for a spare troller also. BCB

Sounds similiar to the short storage compartment on my Eyra. I just use it for misc stuff – golden rule, net, spare change of clothes and some snacks on tourny days. I put all my tackle in the big center storage compartment.Jason Ferbrache – Edmond, OK 1995 Basscat Eyra

Same arrangement on my P-III I use the short box to store boat lights, Check-It-Stick, spare Mayfair pump, spare MG troller prop, depth finders, net, Q-beam, lure retriever, change of clothes, TP, etc. Rods go in the long box on the left side. Middle box contains life jackets, dock bumpers, and some assorted tackle. I keep my plastics in BPS soft tackle wraps and Wal-Mart shopping bags under the drivers seat. Thank goodness my boat doesnt have rear storage, as its already a miracle I can remember where I store everything with the storage I have.

The reason for the offset in front of the console was for tackle boxes in that area that were carried on board back then. We did not carry anywhere near as much tackle as we do now. That area wound up being a place for a cooler on competitive brands with similar floor plans that did not have a built in ice chest.
