Hi! First, whats this hole for? Its under the casting deck and the deck has a bigger hole for a post to go through. The seats posts dont fit this hole. Is this for a pole to support a top?http://images.yuku.com.s3.amazonaws.com … 437ccf.jpgSecondly, should there be a screw in that hole? As it is now, the unit lifts up freely.http://images.yuku.com.s3.amazonaws.com … a148a3.jpgThirdly, my boat has two of these 12v accessory ports….what the heck? LOL! What exactly can I stick in those?http://images.yuku.com.s3.amazonaws.com … d1eabb.jpgOh and a fourth question, I need a perko key. The locks have RH01 on them…where do I get this key? Thanks!!
1. The hole is in fact another seat post placement. Your boat may have a small sign that reads “remove front seat when running”. That is to put the seat down so it doesnt pop loose on deck. Also, another fisherman can sit down lower in the boat and use a seat(my dad did that). Your deck extension has a larger hole to allow the entire post to sit down into the pin base. That being said, it looks like someone put a black pin bushing in there, which it should not have.2. Not sure on the mount but would think it should not lift freely.3. The ports were if you wanted to use accessories…….spot light, night light, etc. You can get a 3 prong trolling motor plug and splice a fitting like the “cigarette lighter” style receptacle. Some spot lights still have the 12v accessory type plugs found on cars. or you could charge phones, etc if necessary.4. Perko key would need to see if the factory still has any. Or you might have to contact Perko company.Good luck!96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
Thanks! So I assume that I need to just pluck out that black pin bushing and insert the correct one? I will look for a 3 prong plug and just put an accessory port (cig lighter thingy) on that….forgot to check to make sure I had voltage at each one.And btw….why 3 wire??
Normally there is no plastic bushing on that center location. Should just be metal/brass base. As far as 3 wire Im not electric smart but I assume a positive / negative / ground wiring…96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
I cant tell if thats black or just tarnished brass.. If it is black busing, your 3/4 king pin seat post should fit fine- if the pins are to big , chase the hole with a 3/4 drill bit, but make sure you measure the depth.. Your accessory plug used to be pretty standard on boats– it can be swapped out with regular 12 V outlet–12/24 trolling motors use to use that type plug– at least on my boat it did, if your transducer is freely lifting it is brokeLast edited by scubaman154 on March 28th, 2016, 2:33 am, edited 1 time in total.
Thanks scubaman, thats a plastic bushing…I think I will just ream it like you say. The transducer seems to be missing that screw or bolt, so I will put one in there.
In my old cat that was a brass bushing. I used to use a shot gun cleaning brush to hone it a little . Works like a charm.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
Not a knowledgeable “Bird” guy, but I very much doubt that the transducer bracket is supposed to have a screw in it. It most likely is supposed to “snap” down in place so it can kick up on impact with something instead of breaking off.
02JagCat, good point, I will inspect closer.Thanks
well, just google the install instructions of the transducer….its to snap down….so I will have to take a closer look later on. Didnt seem to snap down. Thanks for pointing that out 02JagCat.
