thinking of repowering the old Jag with a 225 opti. Local Merc dealer shot me a price of 16,500 installed is this a good price or am I getting took? Love My Jag. Dont want to get rid of it.

Dont know where your dealer is but LMC Marine in Houston has the 225 optimax pro xs for $15,202 and the plain 225 optimax for $14,155 but I dont know if that is installed

Im curious whether the older Jag can handle the weight of a ProXS or a Yamaha SHO w/out issue? Thanks.

There is no real weight difference between the older 250 Pro XB or 225 EFI and an Opti or SHO.

There was a face book post about a pro trying to sell his sponsored motors. They come new from the factory with warranty. Probably a great deal. I will see if I can resurrect it. It was a couple of days ago.

it is the closest cert.merc. mechanic we have w/in 2hr. drive, best to buy close to home for the service is my thought

redwing boats in houston has a 06 i think 250xs not pro xs they dont sell mercery anymore so they just have it sitting on the showroom floor. we almost bought it and they probly would make you a deal on it

FYI my son had a 97 jag with a 250 merc built by Simon motor sports. It was a beast on power lol. That jag would really benefit with a 250 on it. You would be very happy.
