97 Pantera Classic Seats

My sons 97 P Classic is in need of at least new covers on the seats. Right now tthe seats could be saved with covers because the foam is still good. We have the old style 3 piece bench seat. I know we can get the bucket seats from BCB and think that is the only way to go since he will be fishing tournaments. He has about 1.5 years of high school left then on to college. Should we get the buckets with the middle seat or the carpeted box? How well does the middle seat hold up to people stepping on the back getting off the back deck?Thanks

Why not get seat covers and recover the existing seats.

Youre going to have to modify the seating area. Youre under seat storage is two rectangular openings and will be wider that the bucket seat base. Ive seen one modified in the past and had thought about it on my 97 PII. My thought now would be to recover the bench and save the money on the stereo. Hes not going to have the stereo on that much Id bet. When my son did the college fishing for Arkansas Tech he used a portable Bluetooth speaker and sync to his phone. Just another perspective from one whos been down that road. Good luck.

Our seat is the 3 piece one. It has a storage area under the left and right seat. The middle is the cooler. We have thought about the blue tooth speaker.Funny your son went to Arkansas Tech. Sorry, I missed the Classic model.Yes he fished there and got his degree. He was part of their 5 person BoatUS College Championship and fished in 3 Bassmaster collegiate national championships. Finished his college fishing ranked #5 individually per Bass Rankings out of 800+ College anglers.Just showing a little pride for him… Good luck!

Hey jig care if I PM you. I really could use more info about the college fishing. I would like to swap phone numbers with you.I think college is real team tournament fishing and feel like those who can really fish will show it. I am beginning to think high school fishing does not show who really can fish. There are kids fishing with boat captains at the High School World Finals this year that the first day of practice was the first time they had been in the boat together. Not taking away from these kids because they have done good on lakes out of Arkansas, but you have to fish against Steven Brownings and Mark Davis kids on Ouchita and Hamilton. Crap I just high jacked my own topic. Pig I know that proud feeling. My son and his partner won a Juniors tournament at Dardanelle a couple of years ago. The beat 2nd by 3 lbs.
