I have a 1998 Pantera Classic with 1 42 gallon tank. I guess over time my fuel guage has gotten off. When it shows 1/2 a tank, I can only put about 15 gallons in it. Should be more like 21. How can I get this back where I know how much fuel I have? I thought about changing the sending unit but thought it may can be adjusted. What would be best. I still have the older EFI that doesnt get the best fuel economy so when I make long runs I like to know I can make it back.

That actually is one large 36 gallon tank we believe and it may hold more luckily. The sending unit is the old Rochester style and we would try a new WEMA dontu float style which works with a magnet and float, ony the float moves on a cylindrical stem. Those may not be readily available and you may have to dig that length up somewhere. We dont have enough volume to buy it though Moeller or RDS may have a retro fit. BCB

My 99 Classic has a 36 gallon tank , and the gauge is ” iffy ” at best . — Ive adjusted it the best I can , but it still is erroneous . — Just fill it up and figure you get 4 miles per gallon . — 100 mile round trip without worry . — Works for me . — Hoss

You can bend the flot arm to make some ajustment. If only need to know the a mount of gas,mark your tank you should be able to see gas through the tank.
