Recently bought a 99 Cougar and wondering if anyone has access to a wiring diagram/schematic. There is a new A 10 dash panel installed but whoever wired it in, did a seemingly less than stellar job and I’d really like to get it all cleaned up. Everything works in the boat, so it’s not the end of the world, but some things don’t appear to be wired correctly. For instance, my nav lights are wired off the key switch and the nav light functions in the dash panel have been bypassed and are only operable via the switch on the bow. There are also 3 test lights wired in and hanging out under the console. Those supposed to be there? Also, I am installing an 1199 somewhere on the console. Anybody have any input on how or where to mount that and what mount to use? I’d prefer it on the right side of the steering wheel but I’m having a hard time figuring out what kind of mount to get since there isn’t a flat spot to be had anywhere near there. One option I’ve thought about is to remove the speedo, move my tach to where the speedo was and somehow mount the base of an RMC in that old hole. And lastly, what are some prop recommendations for this rig with a 250 on it?? I can’t drive it well enough to even see what I am turning at WOT but it’s got a 4 blade 26? Trophy on it right now.Thanks!
