I have spent the last couple weeks calling people that have already sold their boat, or sending emails that have gone unanswered. Are these sold links left here forever? Last edited by 1kickerfish on January 30th, 2011, 12:13 pm, edited 1 time in total.
1kickerfish — what are you looking for !!
It looks like there are 6 BCBs, Pumas and 1 Jaguar 2009 and 2010 models for sale between page one and two. Not to mention Panteras and Sabers and 2008 models. Frankly, its the the calls and e-mails I respond to are the ones that go unanswered!! So whos wasteing whos time?? If some folks think we are going to give them away that would be Way, Way Wrong!
How many sold boats did you count? Most For Sale sites delete the sold posts. Theres a gentleman on page 2 with a Jag. / 250Sho, Im sure he would be happy to hear from you. Other than that youre best bet would be to call a dealer!Sorry about that, Looks like that Jag. was sold! Last edited by Cbumpilori on January 30th, 2011, 1:53 pm, edited 1 time in total.
As Doug mentioned, there are other sites. BassCat provides this site for free and leaves it up to the Owners to maintain their ads.Whenever Ive sold one off of this board, I will usually put “SOLD” either on the title or in the ad itself. That seems only fair.BassCat monitors this area but does not check each ad every couple of days to see if it is sold. If they are knowledgable of the owner they may review and give a “bump” as a nice boat.I too have had many people ask for pictures, only to be wasting time…they ask everyone for pictures….Ive followed one poster for a couple of years, always wants pictures, usually of the Pantera group. That gets tiring to a potential seller too, but the one that doesnt get pictures may be the one that would actually buy the boat.Hard to say since it is all internet driven as to what the thought actually is…the seller should be courteous enough to mark sold somewhere, but it is not a law or rule.Good Luck!96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
Allow the original author the option to delete his post when the boat is sold. That would remove a bunch of listings.
Probably not. As you have found out, some posts rarely get a response, some posts stay for so long, the seller “edits” his post to bring it back or to actually make changes, sometimes 30 times or more. Some boats take longer to sell on here, so the seller also posts in other forums, thus forgetting they have an ad here. Some people are just lazy, and never bother to post “Sold”, on their title part of their ad, which would be the same as removing it.I have seen some actually request BassCat to remove the post after sold. Basically, it is up to the individual sellers to “police” themselves…96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
This is a free site and we do police it some, though we dont remove older posts. They are marked as sold usually on the ones we know of, or if the poster requests. Thankfully many mark their own or delete them. The date is on the listing so we would only concentrate on the newer or updated listings. The date is in the post.BCB
