Due too a couple of things beyond my control (work) and deer season I have a boat with almost 2 full tanks of gas. They both are treated with Quickleen and marinesta bil and it looks like I am not going to be able to go to the lake and use the fuel, so my question. is….will it be ok or should I try to drain the fuel. I am talkin 40+ gallons, and also can I just siphon the fuel out of the fill ports if I do need to remove the fuel or is there a better way.Thanks in advance,weeman

You should be good to go when season starts. You know we would prefer fresh fuel to start the season today, though you have little options. We would not bother draining it, though others should heed this advice if your in the frozen tundra and are storing your rigs till the ice thaws.

Is this true?A guy told me one time that it is better to store the boat with the tanks full and sta-bil or some other treatment. This would prevent condensation in the empty tank and cause water to be present. Just asking because I have one tourney in November ( Breck Marines) and it will be time to hit the woods until Spring, so the BC will be sitting for a few months.

We no longer suggest full fuel tanks, though additives pumped into the least amount of fuel you can leave and be sure to run that through the engine for several minutes.

I currently use Sea Foam as my additive. Should I also be using a Ethonol tratment? My boat will set some times for 2 months but using Sea Foam I have had no fuel related problems yet.

Sea Foam we use ourselves and over two (2) months you may not need anything. BCB

I live in Maine and I also use Sea Foam. That stuff is by far the best stuff I have ever used. I too store with full fuel tanks for usually 5-6 months and have never had a fuel issue while using it.Last edited by Mainecat on October 4th, 2010, 3:32 am, edited 1 time in total.
