Well, a few weeks ago I hooked on to my P2 for the last time and dropped it off with Webby from MarineWorks who had found it a new home. As posted previously, I then proceeded to order a new Eyra (with several sleepless nights deciding on colors) and then waited patiently for my new kitty to be built. BCB teased a bit when a Eyra video was posted being pulled from the mold. Was it my boat? Sure looked like it. Several days later I received the call she was ready and last Friday drove to the factory with my family to pick her up. A big thanks to Keith, Fred, Stewart, Donna, and Dorry for the warm welcome and showing us around. A special thanks to Dorry for sharing her Ritz crackers with my 6 year old to keep him from “starving”. The first sight of the boat was amazing. You try to picture it in your head but it was even more than I could have imagined…..There was not nearly enough time to spend with my new baby before they needed to wrap her up, hook her to my truck and send us on our way as there was some weather coming. As we pulled away from the factory the snow was starting to fall fast. We enjoyed dinner at Coltons (steak place in town, not bad), and spent the night at the Hampton Inn, which I would highly recommend in the winter due to the heated pool and whirlpool. We had these completely to ourselves and just sat back and relaxed after the long drive. The hotel was extremely clean and the breakfast was very good also. We woke to find this….It was a bit more than the 1-2 inches forecast. It made the drive out from Mt. Home a bit more interesting. Luckily we were able to head south and out of the snow and on back to KY, where I again hooked up with my boys from MarineWorks who will do the final rigging. In fact, my new Eyra is actually going to be in the Lexington Boat Show this week/weekend. Anyone in the area can come and check her out in person. Webby got her all cleaned up from the trip and here are the latest pics…BCB knocked it out of the park on this. Of course it depends on what colors you like. I like white and blue, so this is the boat for me. Thanks BCB and staff for building and servicing such a great product!
