I’m installing two new Solixs on my 2008 Cougar FTD and have an access question. I am installing a Solix 15 on the front and have fabricated a plate to mount a THMarine Kong mount on. The plate will allow me to use the existing holes from my old unit and then allow me to mount the Kong to it. I also made a plate to go under the deck to act as a support, instead of just relying on the fiberglass. The problem is, I can’t get to the area where I need to install the plate that goes inside the bow area.
Anyway, my question is this. Can I drill an access hole under the trolling motor pedal on this year Cougar? I notice that I have two drain holes fore and aft of where I need to place the access port and was wondering if those drain holes are connected by a hose, therefore, not allowing me to drill. Any answers before I screw something up?
